When you buy the June 2012 issue of InStyle magazine (in stores now), you also get a free limited edition Nails Inc polish in one of three shades specially created for InStyle. If you want a proper look at them, head on over to CherrySue's blog where she has really good swatches of all three shades.
The one I finally settled on was Bluebell, a gorgeous powder blue shade. While it's a gorgeous polish on its own, and one you should definitely pick up for summer, I had a couple of Essence Special Effects toppers that I was dying to try out. Particularly this one - Night in Vegas. Think Gosh Rainbow, Nubar 2010 or Essie Shine of the Times and you're about there.
One coat of the Essence over the Nails Inc looks like this inside with flash:
And outside, no flash:
It's a gorgeous effect, sometimes green-blue toned and sometimes orange-red. I can't wait to try it over dark polish properly - here's a quick look at it over Nails Inc Victoria on a nail wheel:
Essence Nail Art Special Effects are available at selected Essence stands now - they retail for under €3 each. InStyle magazine is £3.80, and it was €5.60 in Tesco. Interesting exchange rate there, but that's another story altogether...
Have you picked up any of the InStyle polishes? Do you prefer to wear pastels on their own or do you like to jazz them up a bit?
